February 17, 2023: Periodic discussion of Joint Research Program between Faculty of Geology STT Migas and SOLEN 2023
(Balikpapan – Hanoi) At 19h15 (Hanoi time), a meeting between Researcher Chu Thi Thuc Trinh and the Research Panelist within the framework of the Joint Research Program between the Department of Geology at STT Migas University and SOLEN has been started.
The meeting was organized to discuss the research content with the topic related to the potential of applying the Circular Economy (CE) in the Oil and Gas industry at the “Oil City” Balikpapan in East Indonesian island nation. This is the first cooperation activity between the two units to create a foundation for the cooperation relationship between the two sides, based on the common interest in research and training in the field of Environment and Oil and Gas Exploitation.
The circular economy (CE) has recently been mentioned a lot in the activities of researchers and policymakers towards a zero-emissions economy. The participants discussed very carefully the potential of CE application in oil and gas exploitation, especially in petroleum geology – which is the strength of STT Migas. In addition, some other topics such as Environmental Impacts Assessment (EIA), Joint Credit Mechanism (JCM), … in petroleum geological activities were also raised as a new option for Researcher.
Researcher Chu Thi Thuc Trinh is a consultant of SOLEN, graduated in Environmental Management from Hanoi University of Science and Technology. Although she has just completed 1 year of working experience, Trinh has been with SOLEN in her previous professional research activities.
At the end of the discussion, all members agreed to let Trinh continue to work to complete her own research proposal, in order to have a good opportunity to study and research at STT Migas (Balikpapan City) , Indonesia)
