
Dr. Moe Thazin Shwe is an experienced expert in environmental engineering and biotechnology, as well as a dedicated educator with over 15 years of experience in teaching, research, and environmental education. With a strong academic background, she earned her PhD in Environmental Engineering through a collaborative program between the University of the Philippines Diliman and the Tokyo Institute of Technology under the JICA AUN/SEED-Net framework. Prior to that, she obtained an MSc in Environmental Biotechnology and a BSc in Biotechnology.
Throughout her career, Dr. Moe has taught various subjects, including biotechnology and IGCSE Biology – the International General Certificate of Secondary Education – and has supervised postgraduate students in their research. Beyond teaching, she has actively contributed to international environmental projects, notably a flood mitigation study conducted by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).
Currently, Dr. Moe serves as a Research Associate at SOLEN Environmental Solutions (Vietnam) and continues to teach IGCSE Biology online. In addition to her professional work, she is deeply passionate about the “Views and Values of Nature” (VVN) programs. Through these initiatives, she aims to help learners better understand the relationship between humans and nature, recognize ecological interdependence, and adopt sustainable lifestyles through experiential and reflective learning approaches.
With her strong expertise, practical experience, and passion for education, Dr. Moe Thazin Shwe is contributing significantly to promoting positive values in environmental protection and sustainable development.
