Dr. Moe Thazin Shwe is SOLEN Research Associate and IPC Panel Member. She is a Biotechnologist and Environmental Engineer. She currently lives in Myanmar.
She obtained her PhD. in Environmental Engineering from the University of the Philippines (Diliman) and her MSc. in Environmental Biotechnology from Mandalay Technological University, Myanmar, in 2014 and 2008, respectively. She is a passionate scientist with eight years of experience in the research field of biodegradable plastics. Her research focuses on biodegradation, biodegradable plastics, material studio modeling, and biological wastewater treatment.
During her PhD study, she researched the biodegradation of chitin and cellulose polymer blend using Pseudomonas stutzeri and Cellulomonas spp. in the University of Philippines (Dilman) collaborated with Tokyo Institute of Technology, within the framework of the AUN/SEED-Net by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA)
In additon, she has many years of experience teaching at the Department of Biotechnology Mandalay Technological University and the Department of Biotechnology Technological University (Kyauk-se). She is currently a freelancer lecturer teaching Biology Subjects to IGCSE classes.
With passion, dedication, valuable knowledge, and experience in the environmental field, Dr. Moe Thazin Shwe will be an important member contributing to the development of the International Project Collaboration and SOLEN.
