Center for Knowledge Co-creation and Development Research (CKC) is a young and energetic non-
profit research center based in Hue, Vietnam. CKC was established according to Decision No. 195 of
Thua Thien Hue Union of Science and Technology Associations on 21 December 2017 and Decision No.
04/QĐ-SKHCN on issuing science and technology operation certification by Thua Thien Hue Department
of Science and Technology on 17 January 2018. The center specialises in social planning and
sustainable development studies which empower disadvantaged groups including women, people with
disabilities, and ethnic minorities.

Co-working is at the heart of CKC’s vision. CKC works with the government, NGOs, the community, and
the private sector as equal partners and collaborates with them. CKC wants and needs their active
involvement in our work to achieve the best outcomes for everyone.

Projects that CKC focuses on include impact assessments (social, gender, human rights, and indigenous
people), community development, gender equality, social planning and surveys, corporate social
responsibility (CSR), project management, and sustainable development research.

CKC has experience with international sustainability frameworks and standards. We have designed and
conducted surveys covering the requirements of EP4, IFC, ADB, and AIIB standards through our work on
socio-economic baseline surveys for wind power, solar power, thermal power, oil and gas energy projects
in South Central and Central Vietnam. Most of our surveys have focused on communities affected by land
acquisition with the involvement of ethnic minority people including Thai, H’mong, Muong, Katu, Van Kieu, Khmer, Raglai, Cham, Ca Dong, and Ede communities. Apart from conducting social baseline research, we have engaged in social impact assessment and social due diligence, developing social management plans and implementing social programs in Vietnam.

CKC conducts our research in cooperation with external partners, such as government agencies and the
business community, and our experts from different trans-disciplines to social issues such as labor
immigration, women’s empowerment, climate change, social security, and education.

CKC strengths include close linkage with communities and a good understanding of social performance
with international standards. The focus of its work is in the Central Region but the team has worked both
in the North and the South of the country, and we can deliver all mentioned social performance services
or social research in Vietnam and abroad if required.

CKC human resources and a Panel of Experts who have post-graduate qualifications from Australian and
European universities are all experienced and reputable professionals with skills across a range of
disciplines and we deliver high-quality work on time.
